Slow down…
Y’all…I’ve had so many conversations this week around time.
Specifically, the simple fact that most are “too busy.”
Too busy for ____
You name it, I heard it.
We’re too busy. We’re over-stretched. Over-booked. Over-committed.
So then, when we have the opportunity to say “yes” to something great, needed, restful, resourceful, or resetting, we reply with, “Well, I can’t because I’m too busy,” or, “I’m already over-committed, so I can’t right now.”
But have you ever considered this? What if you’re saying “yes” to too many of the wrong things, forcing you to say “no” to the things your heart, body, soul, or mind really need?
Then, beautifully wrapped and tied with a bow, it came up again at church yesterday…slow down.
Specifically, SLOW DOWN long enough to be kind.
[Pastor Eddie strikes again. If you don’t have a Pastor Eddie in your life, use ours…truly, he is making big waves in our community, and you can watch him from anywhere. (For real, reach out and I’ll share the link!)]
But gosh, y’all. I wrote MIC DROP in my notes.
Slow down long enough to be kind.
I know we’ve talked about this before. I know you’ve heard me say it. But it is worth saying again…
What are you claiming to be too busy for?
List it…write it down, put it in your notes, reply to me here.
Now look at that list.
Is anything on that list worth being so busy that it keeps you from doing the thing we’ve ALL been called to do?
Be patient.
Show love.
Be KIND.
Where can you show up with more kindness? Patience? Intentionality?
And where are you saying “no” when really you should be saying “yes”?
Don’t be too busy for the things that matter most.
Take the time for the right things, not the things that the world tells you are important.
& be nothing but yourself.
Big hugs & so much love,
Cassy
