What’s your “drive to school”?
Yesterday, I drove my kids to school and I released my book
This makes me chuckle because isn't it funny (and ironic) how even in the midst of some of our life's greatest accomplishments our day-to-day keeps on moving forward?
The chaos of the morning routine. The radio battle on the way to school. And the tug that is every drop off.
The world doesn't stop, time doesn't slow down, and your people still need you in all the ways you regularly show up for them.
The same can be said of work.
My friend got presented with a huge award recently and the same thing happened…The emails still flooded in, the demands kept on coming, and she was still expected to be “present” in all the normal ways.
The world doesn't stop spinning for our moments. Whether those be moments of celebration like yesterday or in moments of difficulty.
This is why our circle is so very important. This is where our tribe comes sweeping in.
When we need to celebrate, they are there.
When we need to pause, they help us call the “time-out.”
When we need help, they offer it.
Yesterday, I drove my kids to school and I released my book.
But my tribe showed up in every single way to make sure I paused and celebrated. For every written message, post, video, and call…they made the world stop spinning for just a moment so I felt like what we were doing moved mountains.
All of the work, time, and love that went into the launch of this movement was celebrated by the people who care for me most.
What a beautiful gift that is.
The truth is, time doesn't stop or slow down for us. The release of Unapologetic has now come and gone. But the gift of this movement has nothing to do with the release and everything to do with the power of the people around it.
