I facilitate a program called the New Home Blueprint which is essentially a crash course on all things “new home sales” for anyone in the industry who needs to up their game and perfect their craft.
It’s an absolute blast and gifts me the change to meet some of the best of the best in our industry.
I was on a call with one of our participants yesterday and he shared that one of his favorite moments this week was my slide that reads “Leadership is NOT a title. It is the way you show up…”
Guess what? This is my favorite slide too.
Not because this is a new idea, but because it’s one of the most underutilized concepts (no matter your industry).
In our session, I challenged our group with this question and want to ask you to…
Why we are waiting in the wings for the title, the promotion, or the position to make our impact? To use our voice?
Why do we think that our spot on the totem pole has anything to do with how we show up?
Newsflash: It doesn’t.
Do you watch sports?
Me either , but go with me for a second…
Do you think the pros, the best of the best, sit quietly warming the bench hoping to be tapped in? Absolutely not.
They’re showing up with a bold, fierce, readiness that tells the coaching staff they’re ready to get the win…and so many times they do.
So why don’t we?
What’s holding you back from stepping up? Speaking up? Showing up?
Where can you lead no matter your title?
For me, leadership isn’t found on social media. It’s not in the feel-good quotes, pictures, or team-building exercises.
Leadership is defined by the “behind the scene” moments.
It’s what you choose to do when everyone else isn’t looking.
How do you treat the people closest to you?
How do you treat strangers?
How do you inspire change?
How do you make a difference?
If you haven’t considered this., take some time to reflect on these questions.
But most importantly, do you know what you can give the world that no one else can?
…Yourself.
Your gifts. Your talent. Your voice. Your impact.
Only THAT can come from you. So please don’t waste it. Don’t compromise it. Don’t try to make it like someone else’s.
Be nothing but yourself.
