What overlap are you missing?
This weekend I got to stand by my best friend's side for one of the most special days, and my heart is overwhelmed with happy, love, and gratitude.
What a gift it was to “shower” the most genuine, thoughtful, and gracious person who’s typically the one behind the scenes creating spaces like this for everyone else…And boy did her people show up.
But what if I wouldn't have been there?
We didn’t grow up together. I wasn’t there for her big milestones like her graduation or her wedding. In fact, I was only in the room this weekend because of an email.
You read that right.
A few years ago, I got an email from the director of events regarding my upcoming speaking engagement.
That overlap through email turned into the tackiest taco thank you card post-event.
Followed by a lot more overlap
Overlapping at events.
Overlapping in our work.
Overlapping our big dreams.
And as I sat in a room filled with the people who make up her family and village, I sat in awe that I was a part of it.
Because of an email that led to a thank you that created a meaningful connection.
So what?
I want to shine a big bright light on the overlaps in your life.
There are people being placed in your inbox, in your DMs, at the event, or on your team…
Overlap…
People who may be there to teach you something, show you something, maybe even connect you to something (or someone).
In my life, an overlap from an email exchange turned into one of the most beautiful blessings of my life.
And this weekend, we had the privilege of showering her with all the love as she becomes a mom.
But what if I wouldn't have been there?
So my two questions for you are:
1. Who is being purposefully placed in your path right now?
2. What are you doing to foster a meaningful connection?
Big hugs & so much love,
Cassy
