I’ve got another Flat Stanley!

Did anyone else have a Flat Stanley as a kid? You know, the little guy who you were supposed to take with you everywhere for your class project.

My Flat Stanley went with me to Minnesota, and I thought I was the coolest kid in the class getting to take him to the Mall of America, meeting Santa, riding the roller coasters, and seeing family with me.

This was before the digital age, but there’s an old picture somewhere of him and I with the biggest grin plastered on my face. It was so simple, but such a great memory.

Yesterday, I had my own Flat Stanley moment. A sweet friend of mine reached out from the plane, showing me not only her picture of my book but her favorite part highlighted in yellow.

I sat there in awe reflecting on how special it would be to look over and see someone on a plane reading the book, highlighting its pages, and taking notes in the margins…

That was the reason I wrote it in the first place.

But the craziest part of everything so far with Unapologetic is it’s just like Flat Stanley. My classmates didn’t take theirs to Minnesota…they took him to other places and spaces.

And the book is doing the exact same thing. It’s taking people to different places, through the happy and the sad, transforming the hearts of its holders.

It’s exactly what I hoped would happen. Its my prayer for what I hope never stops happening.

The messages embody the different parts of the book impacting someone’s heart. I’ve yet to see the same page sent to me twice…What a gift that is.

Thanks for making Unapologetic your Flat Stanley.

What’s your favorite part so far? When you find it, send it to me.

Let this be your gentle reminder to look for the fun moments today. The light. The love. It’s there if you’re willing to look for it.

& be nothing but yourself.

The audiobook for Unapologetic will be available 10/28/25!
