Caught with a zipper down…
I had a mass email go out to the Unapologetic Women this morning which means over 150 women received an email with the error: "Tuesday, April 29th"
In case you didn’t know… April 29th is Wednesday
But the number of emails I received within minutes to let me know? It blew me away.
Not because these women were looking for a "got ya!" moment or to make me feel like garbage before 8am even hit…but because they wanted to make sure I knew.
Their messages were kind, thoughtful, and one even met me exactly where I was without even knowing: "I know life is crazy right now"
Yes…Yes, it is.
And there's two ways I could've looked at this today:
Ugh, how embarrassing… add it to the list.
Or…How lucky am I that this many women have my back?
Because the fact is I'll say I'm a one-woman circus…but Unapologetic Women isn't. It has been built by THESE women.
The helpers, the ones who pay attention, the ones who listen, the ones who notice the details (and my mistakes), the ones who genuinely care.
And yes, they show up for the fun, the good, the growth.
But this morning I was reminded of the most important place they show up for me…
When I've messed up.
Because good friends tell you when your zippers down
So if you've got a full cup of pride today, I'm telling you…dump it out.
No one can do it all, and no one can do it alone. It takes a village.
In life, our success will be dictated by the people alongside us. And I guarantee it will flourish so much more when we accept help, when we have people looking out for us, and when we create environments where people feel welcome enough to raise their hand and say, “Hey… you missed something.”
Because the right people will tell you when your zipper is down.
And I'm so grateful that's the tribe we’ve built.
