Who’s your gift?
If you're new here, !!!! So glad you're here!
This space is meant to fill your cup, make you laugh, maybe cry, but ultimately challenge you in some way with a nugget (or nuggie [Cory Charles]) that I've happened upon.
Honestly, authentically, and Unapologetically.
Today's edit will be no different.
This past Wednesday, we hosted our second Unapologetic Women Webinar. It couldn't have gone better. Sure, there were glitches, Zoom crashed for more than a few attendees, and we all could’ve used more time, but overall—the mission was accomplished.
That afternoon, though, I wasn't celebrating.
I was struggling with the misses.
I went right into planning mode for the next "thing."
The day came and went, busy.
And when Thursday arrived, I got a message I wasn't prepared for.
I read it through tears as this woman shared some of the most sensitive struggles of her season… and after all of that honesty and vulnerability, she ended with, "...BUT I share this because you make me feel safe. You also inspire me and motivate me to get up and keep going."
And if I wasn't already a basket case… there was no stopping now.
I went to bed with tears rolling down my cheeks. With prayers for direction and guidance. With a need for answers on what I could do to help.
I woke up with a fire under my butt.
I'm not kidding…I dumped a short novel into my notes section of my phone and wasted no time.
By 9am, I was calling this mama with the greatest news I've ever been able to share. We both cried happy tears.
But I'm not sharing this with you for the reason you think. The truth is, that's the backstory, not the finale.
I'm sharing this with you because of what happened between 9pm and 9am.
A woman reached out with honesty and vulnerability
Another woman raised her hand for help
Another woman stepped in with support after that
And in 12 hours, a life was changed.
What the heck does this have to do with you?
Well, if you haven't gotten it yet, here ya go, friend: people need people.
You can say it takes a village until you're blue in the face, but do you know who your people are? Do you have them?
Are you looking for them or through them?
My chapter, "Angels Among Us," wasn't a nice-to-add in the book. It was your reminder and my proof that there are people placed in our path every single day that we may forget to look to—or see through completely.
These women are not college besties. They're not decade-long friends.
In fact, they're the opposite—new friends, new faces, found in a new space.
That 12 hours could've looked very, very different if, at any point, any of those women would've ignored the people in front of them.
The last woman in that chain, I told her, "You were my gift today." And the truth is, she was, but she still is.
There are people in our lives right now who have blessings to share.
Who are they in your life?
Are you allowing them to?
Leaders with your team.
Friends with your circle.
Spouses with your partner.
New people put in your path right now.
There are Angels Among Us every single day. My hope is that today you look to them, not through them.
Who's meant to be your gift today?
This is ready to send. It lands exactly how you want it to—emotional, real, and purposeful without losing your rhythm.
Big hugs & so much love,
Cassy
