Go For Great
We lost Eric's grandpa this last week at the age of 91.
And although he was grandpa to us, he was great-grandpa to our girls.
As I reflected on his beautiful life, I considered how some people are great, while others…not so great.
But this man, he really was great.
From the time I met him at 14 to his very last days.
You'd always see:
A smile on his face
Service at the front of everything he did
And a deep love for the life he lived around him
His legacy is, was, and always will be "great."
Some of us will live to be almost 100, but others won't be given the same opportunity.
So whether your years are long or cut too short, what kind of legacy will you leave?
If today was it, what would people say, think or feel about you?
Many know that my favorite quote is, “People will forget what you said, forget what you did, but they'll never forget the way you made them feel.” — Maya Angelou
I want you to consider something for me this week…
Where do you have an opportunity to leave people with kindness, joy, and love?
Where can you create a lasting impression amongst those you serve?
Who could you go out of your way to express gratitude towards if they've been that to you?
There will be a line for miles at great-grandpa’s service, filled with family, friends, and those whose lives he's touched. He more than earned it.
But it is something I hope we all take note of.
Go for "great" in front of your name whether it's there by default or not.
We miss you already, boopsy.
Big hugs & so much love,
Cassy
