Wondering Why I Wrote Unapologetic?
Why I Wrote Unapologetic
I wrote Unapologetic for one reason: To empower people to stop asking for permission to be themselves.
Not just in their careers. Not just in leadership roles. But in everyday moments where we quiet our voice, doubt our gut, or shrink just a little to make other people more comfortable.
I know that feeling. I’ve lived that life. And one moment in particular pushed me over the edge…
I was sitting in a space I thought I belonged in—doing the work, bringing the energy, showing up fully.
And then it happened again.
I was told to tone it down. To “lead up.” To “get serious.” To present myself in a way that was more suited for the corporate setting.
In other words: be less me.
And I remember thinking: How many more times will I let someone else edit me?
That moment didn’t just sting. It woke something up in me.
Because how many of us have been told we’re too much… or not enough?
Too emotional. Too enthusiastic. Too loud. Too soft. Too honest. Too “out there.”
How many of us are still waiting for permission to lead, to speak up, to take up space?
That’s when I knew this book had to exist.
Who gets to decide what “too much” is? Why do I have to “tone it down”?
Who gets to define success, leadership, motherhood, worth?
The answer hit me hard: we do.
This book isn’t just my story. It’s an invitation to own yours.
It’s about embracing who you are without apology.
It’s about recognizing the power you have—not just in the lives of those around you, but in the way you shape your own.
You don’t have to keep waiting.
You don’t have to play small.
You don’t have to earn what’s already yours—your voice, your space, your impact.
Unapologetic is for the woman who’s ready to stop performing and start becoming.
It’s about the quiet power of owning who you are.
Even when it’s inconvenient.
Even when it makes people uncomfortable.
Even when it’s not easy.
Because the truth is: you get to choose what your life looks like.
You get to decide what you stand for, how you lead, how you love, and how you rise.
And if you’re ready (or even if you’re not), I hope these pages meet you right where you are—and remind you of who you’ve always been underneath the noise.
Big Hugs & Love,
Cassy
