You better watch out!

If you celebrate Christmas, when does it start for you?

Over the last few weeks, I've been getting requests from the back seat for ‘Santa Clause is Coming to Town,’ “the red one.” For Hallie, this translates to the Frank Sinatra’s Ultimate Christmas album version 🙈When I tell y’all my child knows what she wants, she's even got album covers memorized!

So that’s what we play on October 21st. 

Alexa has also been getting similar requests in the kitchen, bathroom, and basement. Christmas music fills our car and the rooms of our home well before we’ve even made it to Trick-or-Treat. 

You know what I’ve noticed though? It's really hard to be angry, grumpy, or sad when Frank Sinatra is blasting through the speakers. Try it…It’s like getting mad at elevator music. It makes her so happy and these requests continue song after song. 

Sometimes I shake my head in disbelief. I’ve created a human who loves Christmas music as much as I do, but even earlier than what I consider to be the acceptable timeline.

(November 1st, where are  my pre-Thanksgiving turkeys at?) 

These songs bring joy, so we embrace it. 

Is it a bit outside of the norm? Most definitely. Could we tell her no or play something different? Yep. But is it hurting anything to listen to Christmas music sooner than normal? Not at all. 

What’s something you can celebrate today? Right now? 

Where could you embrace joy instead of ignoring it? 

Hallie is a great reminder to find the party in everything you do. She gets it honest 😝

We have to recognize that there is Christmas magic all around us even outside of the “season.” 

We just have to slow down long enough to see it & embrace it too. 

“So you better watch out…” 🎅🏽
