Clean your screen!

Happy Monday to the most BEAUTIFUL tribe! This week is so special because not only are we preparing for next week's launch, but my week ends in the presence of my most favorite people on the planet! It’s Launch Party Week y’all!

The fact that Unapologetic is about to make her way into the universe is an extremely humbling feeling. I am a ball of emotions (in the very best way).

Over the last few weeks, God has dropped BIG blessings into my space that allow me the opportunity to serve in a more intentional way. These individuals are supporting me because of nothing other than their belief in me…it leaves me speechless.

So in a conversation with a beautiful friend who is sharing her gifts with me so that more gifts get to you, she said something that made me pause.

I was reviewing graphics we’d share with you and as I was providing feedback, I saw a flaw. Ironically, my feedback was dead wrong. I had an actual smudge on my screen. This smudge was distorting the image and also my gentle reminder that I’ve lost my marbles.

You can giggle your way through our text thread, but it was her response to this comment that stopped me. “People think I have it together, that always makes me chuckle.”

She said, “You know - this has really made me feel so much better about myself. You do seem like you have it ALL together and that you are just flawlessly boss babe-ing it through life no issues…I’ve always thought that every time I saw you speak.

And the reality is, you’re a mom just like me!! Who drops groceries and deals with toddler melt downs, and sleepless nights, and fears and doubts and it’s what I love about you so darn much!

You’re relatable AND bring so much light and joy to this world. All while actually building this incredibly beautiful and positive empire. It’s what all of us working moms who think we aren’t good enough need.”

Now some might’ve responded with “awe” or the warm and fuzzies, but I felt quite the opposite. So I responded with this:

Because the truth is, I’m “functioning and fighting”…I talk about this a lot in the book.

I lose all the time.

I’m facing rejection just like everyone else.

I’m sending voice memos with a babbling baby and nursery rhymes playing in the background while covered with spit-up and crushed Goldfish.

This is real life as a working mama. This is the season of life I am in.

If there is one thing I hope I never fail to embody with this beautiful community of ours is that dreams aren’t perfect. The timing is never great. Life will be “life-in” but gosh, when God puts it on your heart, show up anyways.

Do the darn thing even in the midst of chaos.

Because if what you’re doing serves one person, you’ve done it.

If your authenticity allows another to feel less alone, you’ve won.

My biggest takeaway from church today was this:

Show up with a “posture of peace even when under fire.”

And isn’t that the truth?

Show it. Give it. And believe in it.

Your purpose is so stinkin’ big and only you can fulfill it. So go out there and do it. Smudgey screens and all.

Oh, and be nothing but yourself.

This tribe is cheering for you.

Big Hugs & Love,

Cassy
