What’s the “to-do”?!

Have y’all ever woken up feeling more behind than someone not using AI?

That was me yesterday.

I woke up feeling heavy and burdened.

How was I already “late” when the day hadn’t even started yet?

Anxiety and stress were serving as my archnemesis and despite having the greatest day prior, I couldn’t shake the fact that I had 89453 things to do. I knew that my list wasn’t going to take care of itself, so all I could do was get to work.

I quickly recognized my agitation and worry… so did everyone else in my house.

It’s not a secret or surprise that I’m approaching one of the biggest weeks of my life. I can’t drop the ball now…I’ve worked way too hard and so has my tribe.

So I immediately turned to my favorite sanity measure: lists…

Anyone else love a good list?

I made a grocery list, a launch party list, my today “to-do” list along with my tomorrow “to-do” list. My kitchen counter was covered in small pieces of paper that convinced me I was calming the chaos.

There’s just something about writing it down on paper that instantly stabilizes my nervous system. Write it down.

As I gathered my thoughts, mapped out the day, and took 856 deep breaths, I did the only thing we can do: start at the very beginning.

Hallie girl and I were off to the races. In her Halloween pajamas, Valentine’s Day headband, goggles, and jelly shoes, we knocked out a day's worth of errands in an hours time.

As I started checking things off my list, I immediately felt lighter.

With each “tick mark,” my stress began to melt away. I could do this. And by 4pm, I’d knocked out my entire to-do list for the weekend thanks to what one could only describe as a Christmas miracle (both children napping at the same time).

  • It never takes as long as we think.

  • It’s never as hard as we make it out to be.

  • And we’re never as behind as we feel.

  • Make the list. Organize your chaos. Start from the very beginning.

But don’t be paralyzed by anxiety, fear, worry, or agitation.

Don’t let stress take your “happy” or your “peace.” I remind myself of this daily.

We really are only given what we can handle…be it a test of courage, faith, or organization.

Where are you being tested right now? What actions are you taking to stay “ahead”?

Find what stabilizes you. Lean into it. And remember your blessings. For me, it’s listening to: Still Waters by Leanna Crawford. Find what serves you.

& be nothing but yourself.

This tribe is cheering for you.

Big Hugs & Love,

Cassy
