She made her own table
When we were setting up for the Unapologetic launch party in Chicago, I packed what I envisioned as the “kids corner.”
I brought toys, coloring pages, books, and games I thought the girls would enjoy during the party. I also brought Hallie’s tea set thinking it’d be a fun thing to play inside of their tent.
Hallie explored all of her toys and was eager to help as we setup.
As we all ran around from task to task, Hallie took her tea set and made her own table. Each setting had its own plate, glass, and spoon. She rearranged the centerpieces and was so excited to show all of us.
This was “Hallie’s Table.” And although there was a small part of me (the OCD part) that wanted all of the tables to match, the proud mama in me couldn’t bear to change anything about what she’d worked so hard to build.
It was just right.
In Unapologetic, there’s a chapter called “Pick a Seat at the Right Table.”
This is what Hallie had built without even knowing it.
She was eager to welcome everyone. She spread joy through each comment, dance move, and giggle. She displayed kindness with people she knew and those she didn’t. And most importantly, she made everyone who pulled up a chair feel loved.
See, that’s the beauty of a table that’s just right. Because when you have a seat at the right table, magic happens.
For so long, I couldn’t find “the right” table. The space or people that allowed me to show up, just as I was. I knew it was out there, but I couldn’t figure out why it seemed so out-of-reach.
I coach women from all walks of life and the amount of isolation women are facing either professionally, personally, or both…t’s widespread. We feel alone, too much, or not enough.
I felt that way too, until I didn’t. That is why Unapologetic Women exists.
It’s why this movement was created.
If you’ve been looking for the seat at the right table, this is it.
Our table is just like Hallie girls and we want you to be part of it. It’s time to pull up a chair!
This tribe isn’t a result of luck. It’s a testament to intentionality, work, and the belief that “rising tides lift all boats.” (JFK).
I hope you’ll rise with us!
& be nothing but yourself.
Big Hugs & Love,
Cassy
