I Want the Miracles!

On Monday I shared the “powers-out” metaphor, but the God-winks haven’t slowed down and leave it to sweet Hallie girl to say the greatest things that spark the light in our day and love in our heart.

While I was gone this week, Eric was sitting with Hallie picking out a show before bed. He shared that she kept asking for the “miracle.” She’d say, “I want the miracles.” He was Googling, searching Netflix, YouTube, Disney…no luck. He had no idea what she was talking about. As the conversation continued with little movement, she went on to say, “I want the miracles, you know…the one with Olaf, Ana, Elsa…”

Then it made sense for Eric…MUSICAL. She wanted the MUSICAL.

Earlier that week she was calling Frozen the Musical the “new one” and I explained to her that she’d have to tell anyone else that it was the musical version. They wouldn't know what the “new one” meant. Gosh, she did a great job listening and much like her mama, she was so close…but not quite there.

So rather than requesting Frozen the Musical, she was repeatedly asking her dad for the miracles

We both laughed as he shared the story with me, but I fell in love with the idea of her saying, “I want the miracles” over and over.

I mean, who doesn’t? I want the miracles too, don’t you?

A miracle is defined as a highly improbable or extraordinary event, development, or accomplishment that brings very welcome consequences.

Something that brings something we welcome…So it doesn’t have to be a giant gesture…although it could be.

But It could also be that God-wink in your day, unexpected kindness, a new relationship…the list goes on.

I’ll share that I’ve had a lot of God-winks over the last few weeks. Honestly, enough to write an entire series dedicated to the big ways God is showing up, moving, and impacting my life.

So on Monday I challenged you to look for the signs, the God-winks…and although this message may be too similar for some, my end-of-week challenge for you is to not just look for the miracles, but be like Hallie-girl.

Ask for them. Expect them. And challenge yourself to focus on them even in the darker moments (we know those are there too).

Because I want the miracles. I want them for you. I want them for the people yet to know them.

And what we focus on gets magnified (thanks Ryan!).

So what are you focusing on right now?

Life’s got a really funny way of showing us what we need even if we didn’t know we needed it. So pay attention. Look for the miracles, hope and pray for the miracles, and let them show up for you even when it’s not exactly what you asked for.

& be nothing but yourself.

Big Hugs & Love,

Cassy
