Why would anyone wait in this line?
If you would've told me last week that I'd willingly stand in line, in 100-degree weather, on America's birthday weekend, waiting to get into a restaurant called Crawmama's...
I would've laughed.
Yet there we were.
Thirteen of us.
Standing outside before they even opened.
The line stretched beyond the first row of parked cars, and people just kept showing up.
The funny part? Nobody looked impatient.
Now, if you've never been there, let me paint the picture.
If The Flying Harpoon and Flora-Bama had a baby...without air conditioning...this would be it.
And I mean that as one of the highest compliments I can give.
The walls were covered with signed dollar bills.
We squeezed around picnic tables and folding chairs.
The crab legs came out piled high in bright pink plastic bowls.
It was loud.
It was crowded.
It was hot.
And it was absolutely packed.
Our girls were playing in the sand.
A one-man band filled the air.
Servers somehow managed to weave through the crowd carrying trays loaded down with hushpuppies and seafood.
The tables were full, every seat mattered. and somehow, it still felt like there was room for everyone.
Nobody seemed to care that it wasn't "fancy."
They were exactly where they wanted to be.
The food was incredible.
The service was even better.
And before we were halfway back to our rental, we'd already decided we'd be coming back.
It made me think...
People don't stand in line for perfection…they stand in line for experiences worth repeating.
Somewhere along the way, I think we've started confusing impressive with unforgettable.
We assume people remember the biggest stages.
The nicest buildings.
The fanciest experiences.
But that's rarely what stays with us.
Instead, we chase bigger budgets, bigger platforms, or bigger opportunities as if excellence has a price tag attached to it.
But Crawmama's reminded me that excellence has never required luxury.
It requires people who care.
People who consistently deliver on what they promise.
People who create an experience others can't stop talking about.
Whether you're leading a team, running a business, raising a family, serving customers, or simply showing up for the people around you...
Don't spend all your time trying to impress people. Instead, spend it creating something worth coming back for.
Turns out people don't stand in line for perfection.
They stand in line for experiences worth repeating.
Excellence isn't creating something people admire.
It's creating something they can't wait to come back to.
Big hugs & so much love,
Cassy
