I Love You Everywhere🤍
Not sure about you, but this week felt 80 years long and now that Friday has finally graced us with its presence, I have to tell you something. But first, you have to know why...
This week, Hallie girl inevitably melted my heart into a million pieces when she shared four simple words with me at bedtime.
She could've said, "I love you" like she normally does, but instead she said, "I love you everywhere...I love you outside. I love you in the basement," and proceeded to list every place she could think of, which might've been a stall tactic mixed in with some good truth.
Either way, I left her room with a lot of love in my heart and a realization. My girl...my sweet, beautiful, four-year-old Hallie girl...she says it all Unapologetically.
There's no questioning what's on her mind or her heart. There's no overthinking. No wondering if she's already said it too much. No concern about whether it'll sound silly.
She just says it.
And somewhere along the way, many of us stopped.
We think the kind thing. We feel the gratitude. We admire the person, appreciate the friend, and love the people in our lives.
But too often, we leave those things sitting in our hearts instead of putting them into the world.
When did we get so careful with our affection?
When did we start assuming people already know?
When did we become so afraid of saying too much when the real risk might be saying too little?
Because the truth is, some of the most important things we have to offer don't cost us anything.
"I appreciate you."
"I'm proud of you."
"Thank you."
"I missed you."
"I love you."
And yet these are often the very things we leave unsaid. Because we're not guaranteed tomorrow.
So as you head into this weekend and into a brand new month, I have to ask:
What have you left unsaid?
Who needs to hear from you?
What encouragement, gratitude, appreciation, or love are you carrying around that was never meant to stay there?
Say the thing.
Send the text.
Make the call.
Write the note.
Because our voice is a gift, and sometimes the most powerful thing we can do with it isn't to speak louder...It's simply to say what we mean.
And I'll go first…I love you everywhere.
Big hugs & so much love,
Cassy
