The Little Shoes That Keep Me Going
I do it for the little shoes they fill.
We’ve all heard the phrase, “I’ve got big shoes to fill,” right?
The other day, we bought Sophie her very first pair of shoes. As I pulled them out of the bag, I just admired their tiny-ness. It feels like only yesterday Hallie’s feet were this small so how is it already Sophie’s turn?
As those tiny shoes sat on the counter next to my laptop, I couldn’t help but think about everything going on in our world. About this season of grind, effort, and transition.
Truth is, there are days it would be easier to throw in the towel. To walk away from one of the many wild dreams I’m chasing after.
But then I’m reminded of my why.
It’s not for me.
It’s for the little shoes they fill.
Because I don’t just want to raise daughters who know how to fill someone else’s shoes. I want to raise a generation so fierce, so bold, and so beautiful that they never worry about filling anyone else’s shoes but their own.
So, let me ask you… Who do you do it for?
