I’ve Got 99 Problems… and $10 Isn’t One
I got a $10 credit this week.
After a year-long issue.
After more than four tech visits.
After unfinished fixes and repeated follow-ups that somehow still haven’t led to a resolution.
And while I genuinely believe the customer service rep had good intentions…That $10 felt sillier than the problem itself.
Because here’s the truth: Your actions tell people how seriously you take their problem.
Not your words.
Not your policies.
Not your intentions.
Your actions.
And sometimes, what we offer as a solution says more about us than the issue we’re trying to fix.
A quick credit instead of a real resolution.
A check-in instead of real support.
A conversation instead of a decision.
It happens everywhere.
In leadership.
In relationships.
In business.
We think we’re addressing the problem, but what we’re actually doing is managing the discomfort around it.
And people can feel the difference.
Because when someone is truly heard, supported, and prioritized…They don’t walk away thinking, “Well, at least they tried.”
They walk away knowing, “They took care of me.”
So here’s the question:
Where in your life are your actions saying something different than your intentions?
Where are you offering a “$10 solution” to a much bigger problem?
Because I don’t need the credit. I need the solution.
And the people in our lives, our businesses, and our leadership?
They do too.
Big hugs & so much love,
Cassy
