“Mom, I forget you”

Hallie girl looked at me with the most serious face and said, “Mom, I forget you.”

It took me a few seconds to catch up to her cuteness to realize she meant, “I forgive you.”

And in real time, I melted at her tender heart. She forgave me for a silly accident I couldn’t even name at this point.

No questions.
No reminders.
No holding it over my head.

Just grace.

And it made me wonder how quickly we lose that as we grow.

How easily forgiveness turns into memory.

How often we say we’ve forgiven, but keep the memory.

We remember the conversation.
The moment.
The way it made us feel.

But what if forgiveness meant forgetting, too?

What if we chose to forgive and forget not because it didn’t matter, but because we matter?

We’re living in a culture driven by divide, hate, and resentment.

And I refuse to give in.

What if our mindset looked a little more like Hallie’s?

“I forget you.” [I forgive you]

This week, try it. The next time it feels heavy, consider “I forgive you.”

Not to erase the moment. But to release its grip on your heart.

Choose grace.
Choose forgiveness.
Choose the kind of life that loves loud.

Big hugs & so much love,

Cassy
