The One Person I Keep Canceling On
I cancel on myself way more than I’d ever admit.
And lately, I’ve been asking myself… why?
I would never do that to my kids.
Or a client.
Or a meeting that matters to someone else.
If it’s important to them, it’s happening.
No rescheduling.
No excuses.
But my own time?
Shockingly easy to move.
“I’ll do it later.”
“I’ll multitask.”
“I’ll catch up next week.”
Here’s the truth I didn’t want to admit:
I’m not bad at time management.
I’m just too kind to everyone else
and far too flexible with myself.
Blocking my time didn’t change my life because it was a “system.”
It changed my life because my priorities stopped living in my head
and started living on my calendar.
And once they were there…
I had to honor them.
If it matters, I plan it.
If it doesn’t fit, it’s a no…
or it moves to a place where it actually can.
The real shift wasn’t productivity.
It was self-respect.
It was deciding to treat my time
like an appointment with someone I care about.
Someone I respect.
Someone I’d never casually cancel on.
Because I would never do that to a peer.
Or an executive.
Or a client.
So I’m done canceling on myself and you should be too.
What’s one thing you’ve been meaning to stop canceling on yourself?
Big hugs & so much love,
Cassy
