It was all rented😅
Anybody else still proudly rocking their TJ Maxx finds?
Most days I’m covered in baby slobber, Cheeto puff fingers, and cracker crumbs which means anything I wear is at very high risk of getting absolutely obliterated (and it has).
So when it comes to events, I’m conscious…because truly, there’s no telling what could happen.
But when I got a style guide for an upcoming event that looked like a section straight out of Vogue, I went into a bit of a panic…this might require more than TJ Maxx.
I sent our host an audio message in real time, which we can both laugh at now, but in that moment I was reminding myself why I wasn’t ready for that room.
Luckily for me, I was already committed…so cue the Rent the Runway subscription.
Why am I sharing this with you?
Because the outpouring of kindness after the event about my outfits made me laugh every single time.
Y’all…it was all rented.
And honestly? I think a lot of us do this in life.
We look at something, someone, or somewhere from afar and assume they’re more polished, more qualified, or more ready than we are.
But let me be your rental reminder:
Just because you feel like TJ Maxx doesn’t mean you’re not ready for the room that holds the runway.
Don’t wait.
Don’t talk yourself out of it.
Don’t downplay why you ARE ready for the room.
Confidence doesn’t come first.
Belief does.
I hope whatever room is calling your name in this season…you trust yourself enough to walk into it anyway.
Big hugs & so much love,
Cassy
